The first Jaguar XK150 3.8-Litre S fixed-head coupe ever built, completed on 18 September 1959 and initially registered as a Jaguar company vehicle bearing the Coventry plate YHP 791, this right-hand-drive example carries engine VAS 1001-9 — the inaugural unit of its series. One of only 275 such models produced in 1959–1960, it was road-tested by Autosport's John Bolster at 136.3 mph in 1960. A comprehensive restoration was carried out in England between 1987 and 2002, during which it was acquired by Jacques Nasser, former Ford Motor Company President and CEO, and displayed at the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Museum in Coventry before being brought to the United States.

A comprehensive restoration was carried out in England spanning from 1987 to 2002, with photographic records available to document the process.
During the restoration the car received a number of performance and comfort upgrades including a ported and polished cylinder head for unleaded fuel compatibility, power rack-and-pinion steering, a negative-earth alternator, an uprated cooling system with electric fan and high-flow radiator, discreetly integrated air-conditioning, a modern radio fitted in the boot, and five chrome wire wheels with Pirelli 205x70R15 tyres. Original wire wheels with Avon tyres are retained.
