1941 Mercury Custom Coachcraft Coupe
- Engine
- Flathead V8 with high-compression heads and dual Stromberg 97 carburetors

A highly individualised coachbuilt Mercury commissioned in 1941 by Peter Stengel from Coachcraft Ltd. of West Hollywood, reportedly at a cost of around $6,000. Built on new 1941 Mercury mechanicals, the car features an ingenious three-piece removable roof with T-tops, a disappearing side-window arrangement, sectioned hood, steeply raked windscreen, and a flathead V-8 fitted with Eddie Meyer heads and twin Stromberg carburettors. Surviving early American custom cars of this calibre are uncommon; this example has been exhibited at the Petersen Automotive Museum and shown at the Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance.
