Ford GT40 Mk I chassis P/1061 is one of only 31 road-specification examples built, completed in late 1966 and dispatched directly to Ford's Dearborn facilities for promotional duties across the American Southeast. After passing through several owners it was acquired by Australian racing driver Bib Stilwell, who commissioned former Gulf-Wyer engineer John Horsman to rebuild it for vintage competition. The car claimed a notable victory at the 1989 Watkins Glen GT40 25th Anniversary event, defeating a field that included Sir Stirling Moss.

Original 302 cubic inch V-8 bored out to 351 cubic inches, producing an estimated 450 bhp, and dressed to resemble a 289 cubic inch unit externally.
Carried out during Jim Click's ownership; shock absorbers, uprights, and brake calipers were also overhauled concurrently.

All cracks in the fiberglass bodywork repaired and the car fully repainted in its green and yellow livery.
Carried out immediately prior to the auction consignment.
