Chassis 2071 GT is the 66th of 200 Ferrari 250 GT Series II Cabriolets built, featuring coachwork by Pininfarina and carrying the distinction of disc brakes from new. Delivered in 1960 through Garage Francorchamps to Belgian industrialist and Le Mans competitor Jean Blaton, who specified unique 410 Superamerica-style side vents at Enzo Ferrari's personal direction — a feature prominent enough to appear in Ferrari's 1960 yearbook. Subsequently owned by Luigi Chinetti before passing through California ownership for over three decades, during which a thorough restoration was completed by Bob Wallace of Phoenix.

Maintenance & restoration

  1. Bodywork

Car received a bare-metal respray described as being of high quality, presumably to its current finish.

Described as recent at time of cataloguing.

  2. Restoration
    Bob Wallace

Comprehensive restoration carried out between 1992 and 1994 during Ken Gerber's ownership. Engine and mechanical systems were precision-machined by a recognised specialist. Original components were retained wherever feasible; those beyond saving were replaced with originals or high-quality reproductions. Car was refinished in Rosso Rubino.

Bob Wallace, based in Phoenix, Arizona, handled the mechanical and engine precision work. The catalogue text appears to be incomplete, cutting off mid-sentence.

Are you the owner of this car?

This car's public record is built from its auction and competition history. Register your ownership and privately add your own records to make it a verified Legacy Metrics passport — provenance that backs your car's value at sale and gives your insurer evidence to price against. Roy reviews and verifies every registration personally.

Each chassis record is compiled from public auction archives and links to its source material. Ownership, competition and maintenance entries are extracted from those catalogue listings by an LLM, which can make mistakes — please contact us with any corrections. The summary is Legacy Metrics’ own writing; we do not reproduce catalogue text.

“Full” and “partial” documentation labels indicate how well each entry is corroborated in the underlying sources, not an audit of the car’s physical paperwork. Names of recent or living owners are withheld for privacy.
