The Ghia 450 SS was a low-volume Italian-American convertible conceived in 1963 by entertainment producer Burt Sugarman and constructed by Carrozzeria Ghia on a hand-built semi-monocoque steel chassis, clothed in distinctive Italian coachwork and powered by a Chrysler 273-cubic-inch V-8 with Torqueflite automatic transmission derived from the Plymouth Barracuda. Introduced at the 1966 Turin Motor Show, only an estimated 57 were produced, sold exclusively through a Beverly Hills dealership at $13,000 apiece.
