Its early ownership history is incomplete, but by 2000 it had been acquired by Florida-based restorer Marco Piehl, who carried out a frame-off restoration in Rosso Corsa over Nero leather. The car subsequently earned two Gold awards and a Platinum award at Cavallino Classics between 2002 and 2004.
