1966 Lamborghini 400GT 2+2 Coupé

Metallic amaranth ('Amarante')

This 1969 Lamborghini 400GT 2+2 Coupé, bearing Touring body number 18998, is historically significant as the first four-seater model produced by Lamborghini. Its chassis identity is complex: research by historian Marcel Wallenburg established that the car was originally built as chassis 0634, acquired new in 1966 by an Iraqi buyer who already owned chassis 0415, and subsequently re-identified under the earlier number, likely to facilitate tax-free importation. The car has accumulated roughly 90,000 kilometres from new and has passed through a documented series of French and Swiss owners, receiving periodic mechanical attention from respected French Lamborghini specialist Edmond Ciclet. It currently wears a metallic Amarante repaint over a natural leather interior and is registered in Switzerland.

Each chassis record is compiled from public auction archives and links to its source material. Ownership, competition and maintenance entries are extracted from those catalogue listings by an LLM, which can make mistakes — please contact us with any corrections. The summary is Legacy Metrics’ own writing; we do not reproduce catalogue text.
