Tucker no. 1046 is one of 51 automobiles produced by the Tucker Corporation, among the 47 survivors, and one of eight late-production cars completed by former employees after the factory's closure. Originally finished in Maroon, it later passed through prominent Tucker collector Nick Jenin, who modified it for road use, and subsequent owners who further altered it before a comprehensive, ground-up restoration to factory-correct specification was undertaken at RM Auto Restoration, making it one of the most thoroughly researched and authentically recreated Tucker automobiles in existence.

Maintenance & restoration
- 1964Modification
The Tucker body was remounted onto a 1964 Mercury chassis and the car was refinished in gold paint.
Work undertaken by or for John and Carolyn Janecek of Springfield, Oregon, further departing from original factory specification.
- —Modification
A front-mounted Oldsmobile Rocket V8 engine was installed in place of the original Tucker unit, requiring alterations to the body, engine tub, firewall, dashboard, and interior trim.
Carried out during Nick Jenin's ownership, reportedly so his daughter could drive the car; the car subsequently served as a family daily driver.
- —RestorationRM Auto Restoration
A comprehensive restoration to authentic factory-correct configuration was carried out, including sourcing an original Tucker engine (no. 335-55), Cord transmission, new-old-stock dashboard, and correct interior. The underbody was precisely reproduced by digitally scanning Tucker no. 1047's original floors and water-jet cutting a duplicate. Paint was matched digitally to surviving traces of original factory finish. A fuel tank, front trunk tub, and full floor assembly were fabricated, and correct Torsilastic suspension components reinstated.
Work overseen by Tucker historians Martyn Donaldson and Mark Lieberman at RM Auto Restoration in Blenheim, Ontario. Some components used in the restoration were traced back to 1046 itself. Commissioned by the current owners shortly after their 2007 acquisition.
