Ordered through American importer Max Hoffman for the US market, it was delivered in Silver Grey with matching leather and specified with optional wire wheels and air conditioning. After decades of documented American ownership, it received a full restoration commissioned in the early 1990s and has remained in static collection storage since 2013.

A comprehensive refurbishment was carried out, including re-trimming of the interior in light beige leather. Some invoices for parts and a portion of the work, along with a summary of the scope, are retained in the car's file.

Commissioned by David Stone and executed by Roger Spaulding, former owner and founder of the Facel Vega Owner's Club. The restoration is described as approximately 30 years old at the time of the 2023/2024 sale.

  2. Inspection
    Bonhams specialists

The car was started and run during an inspection conducted by auction-house specialists ahead of the sale, confirming mechanical operability after an extended period off the road.

Recommissioning prior to active use was advised given approximately 14 years of static storage.

This car's public record is built from its auction and competition history. Register your ownership and privately add your own records to make it a verified Legacy Metrics passport — provenance that backs your car's value at sale and gives your insurer evidence to price against. Roy reviews and verifies every registration personally.

Each chassis record is compiled from public auction archives and links to its source material. Ownership, competition and maintenance entries are extracted from those catalogue listings by an LLM, which can make mistakes — please contact us with any corrections. The summary is Legacy Metrics’ own writing; we do not reproduce catalogue text.

“Full” and “partial” documentation labels indicate how well each entry is corroborated in the underlying sources, not an audit of the car’s physical paperwork. Names of recent or living owners are withheld for privacy.
